Big Bamboo play out Leeds Jazz Festival 2026 with two sets of dance music from Trinidad, Brazil, the French Caribbean and Jamaica. Come and close out the festival in style at The Attic, and celebrate another great year at our after party with Big Bamboo’s irresistible and infectious gumbo of soca, calypso, merengue, choro and beguine!
Support comes from Pitanga with Martín Berger on saxophones, Jacob Harrison on guitar, and Alex Chadha on drums. Pitanga play a vibrant repertoire blending Brazilian rhythms with their own original compositions, adding some Argentinian tunes into the mix, a spicy bit of jazz, and a touch of flamenco. The result is exhilarating rhythms, catchy melodies, and unexpected harmonies.
