Lamplight Social Records
Lamplight Social Records (LSR) is a record label based in Leeds, UK, founded by saxophonist and composer James Mainwaring. The label was initially established to release records by Tipping Point and 2012 Mercury Prize Nominees Roller Trio, later taking a break while Roller Trio signed to Edition Records and Mainwaring to Discus. In 2023, LSR undergoes a relaunch driven by a renewed vision. Our aim is to serve as a home for a new wave of music emerging from Leeds and beyond. We aspire to support artists who embrace experimentation and pushed the boundaries of their respective genres. Our focus lies between contemporary jazz, improvised, and experimental/ambient electronic music.
Alongside our record releases, we also organise events, including a weekly residency at Sela Bar in Leeds. We are equally passionate about education, with many of our artists actively involved in teaching and conducting workshops. Our commitment lies in making the creative process of music accessible to all individuals, regardless of their background or experience.
LSR welcomes you to join us on our journey. Whether you are an artist, a music enthusiast, or a member of the industry, we invite you to be part of our evolving story. Please join our mailing list and follow us on our socials.
